Can you see the moon?

Our Cambodian princess has been unwell.
She is self medicating from the tummy bug flow chart !!!
She has had to stay holed up for a few days to get her stamina back.
Amy.....Can you see the moon?
We could.
We each took photos ......

Me......Your moon is upside down!
Amy......No, your moon is upside down.
Mmmm.......must google that!

Still trying to cover those bare spots
Bill has been de-thatching the grass as best he can before sowing more lawn seed in the remaining bare spots.
It's hard work and the rocks keep surfacing even though we thought we'd got them all.

Bandicooting
More dutch creams from the potato patch. Imagine our harvest if we'd watered them!

These gorgeous flowers make it seem like the garden looks a picture........it doesn't!  It's got that thirsty look about it.

Sedums
But this is the time when sedums come into their own and put on a bit of a show. Their thick, fleshy leaves help them withstand the rigours of Summer perfectly.

Aaahhhhh this little boy..........

Little prince.....

Keeping cool and lighting up

Definitely a weekend for keeping cool.

How long do you think Bill will sit on the sidelines?

Paper Planes
We had been to see the Australian movie, Paper Planes. A great family drama filmed in WA.
The star of the show is Ed Oxenbould, the young 12 year old  whose paper plane making takes him to the World Championships in Japan.

It made us come home and make paper planes too.

I think there could be a bit of eye balling going on there!

Hot day garden news
All the pots of herbs have been planted now.
The pretty alyssum around the edge of the garden room is looking a treat.

I scrunched up and scattered some dried alyssum plants around there too and this is the result.....

I have done the same around the herb beds. Hope they end up like this too.

Joanne gave us some dead sticks a few weeks ago. They were from her wisteria plant that she was cutting down. Well at least that's what they looked like at the time.
I stuck them in a pot of soil like she told me to and now......

...there are shoots coming out at all angles. I have no idea where we might put them, but if they're that tough then they certainly have a home here!

Hot day project
We are auditioning some ideas for the view from the garden room to the back fence.
It might be this old paling gate. We'll stand it there for a few days and see whether it might be what's needed.

Parade night in Siem Reap
Time for that Giant Leaf Insect to light up and shine and more importantly those gorgeous kids and their teachers.
Amy thought they may need to form a circle around them so as not to lose them ......some of the children  have never been into Siem Reap before. Their village is 25 kms away.
