We completely missed Autumn last year.
So it is with great joy that we are able to watch the changing colours of foliage this year beginning with the gorgeous yellow of Golden Ash.
More pops of yellow inside with Al's lemons.
And that lovely yellow blush in the centre of Abraham Darby which is so pretty at this time of the year when the sun is less harsh.
Thanks for the apples from your tree Sue.
We celebrated Sue's birthday last Sunday with coffee and cake in Marcus and Caroline's dining room.
They have just moved into a beautiful heritage listed vicarage. It was built in 1855 from local sandstone and sits atop a hill along with the Church and school.
A stunning location........
( those two photos came from a publication)
The ornamental grape cuttings I planted around the place are all doing different things!
This one is the healthiest.......
This one is being eaten by caterpillars so requires a daily de-caterpillaring......
This one hasn't done anything yet..... it just is.
I was ready to pull this one out when all of a sudden it sprouted new growth!
I am looking forward to seeing what happens next with this climber. It is a mandevilla laxa that I had also given up on.
It has white jasmine like flowers in Summer and Autumn. Apparently they have a delicious fragrance. It has managed to twine itself all the way up to the top of the fence.
Along the dirt path to the potting shed........
.....a sweet pea seedling has appeared out of nowhere.
Now I come to think of it , that's probably where the sweet peas originally had their little crop growing up the side of the stable.
Haven't decided yet whether to move it or keep walking around it.
Siem Reap has been without power for a few days.
It's been in the high 30's.
Can't begin to think what that would be like.
I think Amy has had a wet towel for a sheet!!
