Actually, it was two bags full of worms. Compost worms. Nature's little recyclers.
Amy and Helen have become vermiculturists. They have made a worm farm outside the granny flat.
Such a simple idea with wonderful outcomes.....using worms to decompose organic waste and turn it into nutrient rich material for our gardens.
We are all waiting and watching to see what happens next.
In the Weekly Times this week, they talk about vermiculture on a grand scale.
Around the garden path today ......
We have apples for the very first time!!!!
And cherries.
The sweet peas have finally started to flower.
Our banksia rose fenceline is beginning to stand out.
Amy has been potting up some succulents into tin cans.
Jacqui is going to sell them in her shop.
Vegie girl has also been planting seeds in some seed raising mix using Pa's tin containers.
Sew and sew......
I sewed some heat packs for Jacqui's shop.
And little Hugo finally received his bib and teether.
With my fancy nancy homemade label attached!
Congratulations Katie and Jason. Such a special little man in your lives.
He looks adorable and we can't wait to meet him.
Speaking of sewing, I've started a new project.
From this book.
So far I've done four blocks......out of one hundred.
Using left over scraps by two fabric designers, Amy Butler and Anna Maria Horner....... and a few new little bits to add to the pile.
Janne. I know what you are thinking.
What happened to the Farmers Wife Quilt??
It's STILL here.
I WILL join all those blocks together.
Sometimes I just need to start something new.
Mmmmm, now I've put it out there I'm feeling a bit guilty about not finishing it first.
Our little love hearts moved house last week.
They are just a couple of blocks from the beach in Dampier.
The roses are just starting to come into bloom.
It was our Melbourne Cup Day get together yesterday.
Our little gang have been Melbourne Cupping for just over twenty years.
Just realised I didn't take any photos.......
That's close enough!
Except that little Indie is missing in this picture.
Hope it's a great week everyone.
