And then just like that , he was gone.......

After ten days of not being able to take our eyes off this little face.......

...... we have been left with this.

And as if on cue, the weather has suddenly changed to Pilbara style.  Sam, Kiann and Flynn flew home today with a 3 hour stop over in Perth (doesn't bear thinking about) and suddenly the house has taken on a deafening silence.

For me it was all about being in the moment ( not always that easy for me)  and there were plenty of moments to be in, let me tell you.
This was the year of the Ninja Turtle ( no Ipsy Wipsy Spider for this 2 year old) and he Ninja Turtled himself crazy!

He frog hunted, bug hunted, checked the horses on a daily basis, rode in Bertie, drove Grandpa's tractor ( ride on mower), collected feathers ( which became Ninja turtle swords ) and stole our hearts once again.

We don't know when we will get to see him next. It is way too hot for me  us up there at the moment and seems to stay that way for months.
He may be too young to remember his first Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's, but we will always remember it.

There will be part two.....just sayin!

  1. Gorgeous memories for both Bill and you Helen and Amy too. Oh and I so loved having some contact in physical rather than Facebook, Instagram. You are right you will remember this Christmas like no other. I know too well the feeling of having the Grandchildren and then leaving me with a quiet empty house. We need both at our age I guess.Keep up the posting when you need to express your thoughts. Think it as a diary for your own self. xox

  2. Some awesome photos in there mum. Was a great 10 days. I have no doubt he'll remember his first Christmas at Grandma & Grandpa's. He loved every minute of it. I'm sure he'll be asking where you all are and will be wanting to see you all again as soon as he can.

    1. There were many times that I was with him when I didn't have the ipad handy and wished I had taken it. Too many of those special moments to capture all of them......I'm sure an odd one will keep filtering through for a while! Bet it's nice to be home though xx
