Bandicooting

Bill planted the potato patch back in early October.
We have been wondering when they would be ready for harvesting.
Apparently you can bandicoot at any time after the flowers appear.
Bandicoot......to gently dig around potato plants with your hands without disturbing the plant or pulling it out.
So I dashed out and started bandicooting.

And look what I found!!!!

Talk about exciting.......these ones are called Ruby Lou.

More excitement today when we caught a glimpse of this outside our front window.

At last......some slashing next door.

Much better......thank you.

Excitement #3... frothy rafts of frogs eggs have appeared after the rain.

The gate maker.

 Perfect.

Currently, this is the view from the doors of the garden room.
Can't do much about Bertie's shed or the power pole, but the rose hedge is directly in our sight line.......and we can do something about that.

I have found myself considering other options for the hedge but still keep coming up with the banksia rose.....so that's what it will be.
These will be relocated out further.

The lawn sower.

Excitement#4
I picked this lilium yesterday while it was still closed up and this morning it looked like this........
It is called Leslie Woodriff.
I bought the bulb from Lambley nursery. ( Just one.....$9!!!) But what a delight.
Apparently it grows to two metres and can carry a couple of dozen flowers. It takes a couple of years to get to that height.

And these two are always a delight to have around.

And so is this chocolate!
Thanks Jacqui.
