Family Traditions

We celebrated Christmas Eve with some old traditions and Sam and Kiann introduced some of their own.

As children, a visit to the Main Street to see Santa on the fire truck was always exciting for us. He handed out lollies back then ....

.....still does!

When Sam and Amy were little, we would fill paper bags with sand and a candle and place them around our driveways just like everyone else in the whole neighbourhood.

We did that this time too.....but just up the garden path!

Sam and Kiann had reindeer food for Flynn to sprinkle on the grass.( thanks Deb....loved it!)

And their tradition is to have popcorn and hot chocolate before bed and watch a Christmas movie.

Everyone wore crepe paper hats found in their Christmas bonbons .......still do...

We decorated the Christmas tables with white sheets tablecloths, flowers from the garden and serviettes folded into cute little tree shapes with a star peg on top. ( Thanks Kiann! )

( the littlies up the end have been whited out by the sun! )

Bill always buys poinsettias at Christmas. They have stayed very fresh and vibrant in the Garden Room this year.

Lots of us took photos.....still do!

And some swapped their Christmas hat for a Ninja turtle one .......Nup, never did that!
