Sow and sew

There are times when my "bossy" gene comes into play and I find myself telling people what to do!
And then there are times when I wish my "bossy" gene had come into play.

Read on ~~~~

Bill ( throwing handfuls of powdery stuff around after scattering all the packets of lawn seed) ..............Mmm, this smells good.

Me......What is it?
Bill.....The seed and turf starter.
Me.....That's supposed to be mixed in with the lawn seed!!! Did you read the instructions?
Bill......Nope.

I  had read the instructions(mix in with lawn seed).
 I always read the instructions.
But I didn't bother telling Bill what to do because I just presumed he would read the instructions too.
Won't complain though ( Mmm, perhaps I may have!)
The prep, sowing and watering-in took almost the whole day.
That included an extra trip to Bunnings for more lawn seed.
Apparently, Bill had under-estimated the area to be covered by two whole packets. What????
Clearly no measuring took place there !

The lawn seed was planted yesterday. At the rate that the topsoil was being blown away, there would have been none left to sow anything in, come Autumn.
We have had two ridiculously windy days here.
Now we will eagerly await the appearance of a green tinge. We love being able to use our tank water on such a large area.

Another kind of sewing ~~~~
A cushion for Heidi....

And a minkee quilt and elephant for Cherylyn.

This little face.......

...and the beautiful Golden Wings rose.

  2. When all else fails, read the instructions!!!! Bill is a " doer " so he doesn't have to read instructions. Will be nice to see the green tinge even if it's the middle of summer. What summer it's cool here today!! Love the blog, keep up the good work Helen.
