The potting shed

We are I am very excited!
I have found a new project for Bill.
This little beauty was advertised on Gumtree....free to a good home. The perfect potting shed.

                                          ( Gumtree photo)
There was a catch - we had to dismantle it ourselves.
So we did.
Today. ( Saturday)
Three hours.
36 degrees!

It has had two lives. The first as a cubby and then as a chicken coop. Couldn't help feeling sorry for the remaining chook (no name, just Chook).

The owners seemed to think that she would be happy to see out her days roaming around the backyard.
The backyard is going to be turned into a swimming pool.

The deal also included two sturdy raised garden beds currently overflowing with the healthiest herbs  I've ever seen.

They would like the boards, soil and herbs removed as well.
Really?
Oh, we can do that!
It's third life will be as our potting shed. There probably won't be much potting going on in there but it will be a great storage space for all our garden paraphernalia that still seems to be without a home.
It's very old.
It's very weathered.
It's missing a few bits.
We think it's going to be perfect.

Our trusty, rusty trailer has done the job  for us again.

We need to go back for the rest tomorrow..... the base and the garden beds and the posts and the soil.
Hope we can work out what goes where when it comes to putting it back together again.
Can't be that hard, surely!

  1. Upcycling - requires creativity and elbow grease. Looks like you have it in spades. Well done and good luck shifting that soil - it is deceptive! jbl

    1. Hello jbl. You are right.... We only managed a third of one bed but it will be a good start and was very friable. We could easily have taken a special trip just for the soil, but that was taking things a bit far ...!!!!
