Eat more cake

So we did!
Thanks to Aunty Ray.
If it was left to me, we'd be sticking the candles in the roast potatoes!
We celebrated three birthdays at the weekend. Mum, Leesa and Bill.

An afternoon celebration in the backyard at Minyip......

......with Ned finally becoming our next Roofman, procuring the title from Uncle Den ( who retired from that job some time ago when shimmying up the pole became an impossible  arduous mission ).

  Kim and kids.

Dennis worked on that leaking pipe-- again!

He thinks he's got it sorted now.

The silos at Brim are outstanding. The depiction of the local country folk in this way is awesome and the talented artist responsible for this giant artwork, Guido Van Helten, is to be hugely congratulated.

On our way there, we particularly took notice of the number of silos we passed. There were at least six others in a 50 kilometre stretch. What a fabulous possibility for tourism in those little country towns.
The latest news is that five new places have been chosen for just that.
Sheep Hills, Rupanyup, Rosebery, Patchewollock and Lascelles.
 Five different artists.
We look forward to seeing the outcome.
We had scones and tea at the little cafe at Rosebery set up inside the former Presbyterian Church where Bill's parents were married as well as his sister Sue.
The Mallee Sunsets Gallery cafe is run by Maxine.

We've had rain ( yay!!!) ......

......and ice.

And our new grass is covering the space more and more each day.

A play quilt for Archer and Flynn is finally finished.

Only one more sleep little boys!
Flynn has been crossing off the days on a calendar page that Bill sent him.

We haven't seen them since Archer was born... nearly nine months.
Prepare for Grandparents / Aunty assault!
Temperature expected each day for our week away......?
29 degrees. Oh me, oh my.
I think we should cope with that.
