Canary yellow

There's so much to love about the colour yellow in Spring.
Buttery yellow, lemony yellow, ochre, amber, cream, gold, banana yellow.
For some unexplained reason I only ever liked soft lemon colours in the garden. Not anymore.
Give me good old canary yellow any day.
Forsythia in all its glorious canary yellow as we speak.

And this leucadendron yellowy orange colour makes me think of saffron.
It has been a favourite. It is called Summer Sun.

Shades of yellow have featured strongly in my Farmshop jars this week too.

And swathes of yellow daffodils greeted us at the Garden of St Erth last week when we visited there with Joanne. The old house has such a charm about it and I love that door.

I have saved a tap from Dad's shed to see if we can fashion a gate handle like this one.
We both took home purchases from the plant shop there ( who would've thought). Crocuses for me and hellebores for Jo.
I added a couple of our hellebore flowers to my flower jars this week. I adore their simple beauty.

And then the sewing marathon began.

It wasn't quite like that but.....mmmm, on second thoughts.

I started with these ......

Which turned into these.....

Eighteen bibs and eighteen teethers.
They are now on their way to Kiann's shop.

Around the garden path this week.

Seeds have been planted.

Can't begin to tell you how excited I get when I see this happening. It's my lilium bed *big sigh*. I'm especially delighted to see new ones popping up.

Not exactly the garden path, but just as exciting was this latest Bird Spotting incident at Frogpond Farm.
#76 in fact.
The girls noticed him as they drove through the front gate around 8pm.  I wonder whether he was just passing through or has permanent residency.
Looks like a tawny frogmouth to us.

Farmer Bill has been busy too.
The coffee table is finished and has taken it's place in the garden room.
The timber is called American white oak.

It couldn't be more perfect.

Reading time for me this week.

.....and some gorgeous magazines from Viv.

We get to see these little boys soon. We can't wait.

Thank you for the honey Helen.
I love the tags.

Beautiful Japanese crabapple.

Thank you for your card Mima.

The frogs have certainly been dancing in the rain here.
I'm thinking we've probably had enough now though.
Have a great weekend everyone.

    1. The tawny frogmouth sighting led to some research. Quite common apparently. It may have been around here for ages!!
