I'm in the garden

Mulching all the rose garden beds with 24 bales of pea straw ( with lots of help from Farmer Bill of course).

But not before this glorious 77mms of rain a week ago.

We knew it was coming.....the signs were definitely there.

It resulted in a mini flood in the shed...

But nothing a few warm days couldn't fix.

And so the gardening continued.
   Cuttings of all these toughies....

Repotting treelings of lemon tree seeds...

Repotting two leucadendrons that happened to form roots( out of heaps of cuttings taken). I'm going to try that again now. Different season. Who knows.
Repotting drowned succulents because their containers didn't have drainage holes ( what the heck was I thinking??).
And planting some into garden beds. Never thought I'd find myself doing that in a million years. I've jumped on the succulent bandwagon.
Taking banksia rose cuttings to try to get this imagined rose walled garden( in my head) on the move a bit quicker.
Potting up the ONLY one of Jo's rose cuttings to strike taken back in November. Altissimo. Will try them all again one day.
   Cutting back the lavender walks.

Digging up the clumps of white belladonna lilies in the four quarter beds. I've decided to keep those beds for liliums only. Noticed in a catalogue that they were $26 for 3 bulbs. Really????

Collecting the sweet pea seeds for next year.

Around the garden path yesterday.
A bunch of purples.

Roses

Lilium Lambley Trumpet....a pretty soft lemon colour.

Gorgeous penstemon Mother of Pearl.

Basil going crazy.

Just when I had told the lemon tree that I was about to dig it up and put it in a pot because it had been sitting there sulking in the corner for months, this happened....

Probably the rain to be honest. I'll be keeping a close eye on it to see what happens next.

And now that our lighthouse/ teepee is no longer required for the cherries, Farmer Bill has magically turned it into a sugar cube to protect the fig tree.

These boys....

These next photos were taken during FaceTime yesterday when it was 44 degrees up there.
Flynn ......Watch this Grandma!
Yep, I'd be climbing up the walls doing my ninja turtle routine too after being inside all day on such a hot day.
Archer has a love heart sticker on his cheek.....

Helen reached Mount Everest base camp and we are all so proud of her. I still can't believe she did it. It's like climbing to the summit in our eyes!

She took Amy's little dog, Buster, a seasoned traveller.

Amy is flying to Delhi tomorrow to meet up with her and start a tour of India for a couple of weeks before school goes back.

Stay cool everyone.
