Welcome back everyone.
I’m pretty sure you will have all given up hope of ever hearing from us again. I don’t blame you. I would have too.
But here we are….having finally caught our collective breaths and ready to share what’s been going on here. It’s been a bit of a blur to be honest.
The last few weeks especially, but even the last few months since selling our beautiful property. We knew it was going to be a huge undertaking and a massive decision to leave our home of over 30 years and leave our old life behind. But we also didn’t want it to be a missed opportunity and regret all the new and exciting possibilities.
As time has gone on, we have become energised, motivated and excited for this new chapter that’s about to begin.
Frog pond farm will always remain a huge part of our lives though and I will probably keep finding photos and stories from there to share with you especially during the last few months when blogging came to a complete halt.
We met the new owners and they are a lovely family. They are going to make some huge changes over the coming months.
It was ready for a fresh makeover.
Part of their plan is to turn the Rose Garden and orchard into a horse arena. They kindly let us dig up lots of the plants from there to take with us and we are very grateful for that.
This blog will be a quick introduction so that I can let you all know our new blog address. The previous blogs are all still there but the old address is not valid anymore. I still haven’t had a chance to put the photos back on the three blogs whose photos disappeared into cyberspace…..but I will.
Marmalade House
Amy and Helen have called their new property Marmalade House in case you’re wondering what our new blog address is all about. We have a plethora of fruit trees here and the orange and lemon trees are a stand out. We’re looking forward to our first batch of Marmalade jam here. Won’t be for a while though as the trees put all their energy into getting the fruit growing.
Bill and I are now living in the little cottage that is on the property and was used as a bnb by the previous owner. We plan to do an extension and a bit of szhoozhing up further down the track when our feet hit the ground.
This is the brick path that leads to the farm house.
It’s all a bit skew~whiff at the front. Not sure why the path has ended there.
We have called this, the Box Room. We packed 126 boxes before we left.
Most of them will remain exactly where they are for the time being.
We have brought in the furniture that fits……and other bits as we need them.
Indoor plants have had to be tucked in behind the fire screen away from baby hands.
Poor Bill has been chipping away at all his Shed Stuff as well as doing lots of jobs for all of us. We are grateful for the random sheds that are already here. They will all be put to good use eventually.
Thank you to everyone who has hung in there waiting to see what’s been going on.
Amy helped me set up this new blog after both of us spent ages trying out some new blog platforms. In the end, I’m back using Blogger. Not as fancy as many of them, but good enough for what I want.
This little face has been directing all the goings on.
Happy Easter everyone.
PS. You can just imagine how desperate I am to get a plant in the ground…..or even a bulb!!
Love this Mum! And love seeing all your furniture in the cottage. Looks very homely xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam. It’s amazing what a difference some plants make too. Can’t wait for you to see it all. xx
DeleteThank you Sam. It’s amazing how the plants make such a difference too. Can’t wait for you to see it all now. xx
DeleteCan see a bit of a resemblance to Uncle Jack outside those sheds 😂🤣 Love your cottage and looking just like a loved home with your special touch. Look forward to visiting you if we ever get down that way. …. Sue E
ReplyDelete🤣🤣Oh Sue, we’ve all been thinking exactly the same thing. I think Bill heard Dad say, “ it might come in handy” way too many times!! East Gippsland is very new for us too but gosh, we’re excited about all of it. Thinking of you all. xx
DeleteHi Helen, It does look amazing. I can't wait to see what you create. Sam is right, the cottage looks very homely ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you Sal. Once you get your own stuff in, it seems to become home again. When everything was gone from Frog pond, it all just “ lost its soul” and became just a house again. xx
