A job well done and Falalalala Lalalala

After 67 days, our workers have gone.
The buildings have been completed and their job is done.
The rest is up to us now.

Yesterday our lovely building man gave us a lemon tree to plant in our orchard.

The Garden Room building is finished......

........but I will probably keep moving things around in there until the cows come home!
We have moved the Xmas tree in there now so it is already different.

Ohh that looks nice.......

Nahhhh...let's try this.....
Just can't help myself.

( Plates from my new favourite shop.)

There is still dirt to be moved into garden beds or anywhere in the bare patch for that matter. I expect that load won't go far.

And the paving man is coming on Monday to start our brick path around the Garden Room.
So still some garden and dirt related things to do.

But it was definitely cause for celebration.

Thanks Amy. Very yummy.

We are ready now little boy......

This may be my last post for a little while.
Sam, Kiann and Flynn arrive on Monday for 10 days.
I'll probably be too busy doing what grandmas do!
In fact now I come to think of it, I guess the re-build is finished now too, which was the original purpose of this blog.
Oh well, I'll see how I go.

Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for reading along for so long about what's been going on here at Frog Pond Farm.

( Don't be surprised if I post a few photos of you know who!~)

Peace and goodwill to all

If only it were that simple.
Like many of you, we are finding it difficult to comprehend the events of yesterday and last night in a Sydney cafe.
No words ..............

Anything that follows seems quite trivial now but I'll post it anyway.

Tree time
I was unsure whether or not our Christmas decorations were burnt.

The tree was in its box in the shed and usually the boxed decorations were stored there too. Not sure how they came to be inside but we were happy to find them in the cupboard. Only because we have gathered quite a collection now and many of them have been given to us and I adore them.  I'm sure some of you will recognise them.
And yes, I love a bit of tinsel and shiny stuff!

A picture drawn by Sam at Kinder.

A wall hanging made with Sam and Amy's help. Sam 11 and Amy 9.

A gift for being a reading Mum in Sam's prep year.!!

The year I went crazy about making Balls!!! Too bad if you didn't like them...chances are you got one anyway!

The cross stitched linen centre piece bought from the op shop for $4 that I made into a cushion. Couldn't believe my eyes when I found this...... someone has probably gone blind trying to sew those tiny stitches.

Garden sightings
I'm so glad I took these garden photos yesterday.
It is blowing a gale of dust out there right now.
Beautiful lillium arachon.

This one has creamy lemon trumpets. Not completely out.... could have even blown right off this afternoon!

One of the new achilleas ( new in our garden) described as having "glistening, bright cherry red flower heads."
Perfect for Christmas.

Some people bits
Bill and Jo discussing all things garden. Thanks for your ideas Jo!

Amy calls this little boy "Flynny Long Lashes."

Getting close now!
Next Monday he arrives......same day as our paving man!

Christmas is coming......

Christmas tree #1

Decorated with these......

I couldn't leave those decorations in the Xmas bargain shop.
 All $2 each.
Actually I only had $4 in coins and the lady threw the third one in for free!!

These were $3 each....same shop.

The flowers are called achillea.
The red one is called peach ( I say cherry ) and the other is a soft yellow which has now turned a creamy colour. They are quite feathery and lacy.
I have two new ones out in the rose garden
which are yet to come into flower. They look so good at this time of the year and fill up big spaces in between the roses.

A beautiful daylily.
I must remember to split it up this year after flowering ( I suppose that's when you do it).

Grandpa's Rose looking a treat (thanks David B)

And a new lillium in flower.
This one is called Lillium Arachon.
It has a green throat and pure white petals.

A lovely surprise in a parcel this week from our friend Ruth. She made it herself! And she says there's a bigger one to come!

It's off and away......
We're still not sure whether this is a pumpkin or one of the 3 ornamental gourds that were planted in the old vegie patch.

We christened the shed with morning tea this week.

Our painter has been painting all day.
He is back tomorrow.
Our shed man is back on Sunday.
We have had 4 quotes for our paving around the Garden room. We don't expect it to be done before next year.

Bill has been working on the fence to keep Flynn and the dogs in.

And the trusty trailer is there to throw rocks into. We need to clean it up before the soil arrives. There are heaps of rocks up closer to the house that seem to have risen to the surface over the last few months.
Oh and the bit of greenery on the left is a hollyhock sprouting up through the compacted dirt.....tough as old boots!

Can't wait to see you guys.....
Precious little man.
