Inside day post

It was freezing here today so we've hardly poked our noses out the door.
13mm of rain last night has meant that the spoonbill has spent the day with his "nose" in the water snuffling around. He's probably eaten all our tadpoles.

13mms of rain has also meant that our spouting workers weren't here either.
However, our project manager had a meeting with the shed builders this morning and they will be back tomorrow. We hope the clay has dried up a bit by then.

Peanut rolled over and out again yesterday!!
We found him in the middle lane. Not sure how long he had been there.

We managed to get him back in through the gate to Mum......

....and his friends, who look like they're saying Where the heck have you been?

Bill zoomed in on our willy wagtail still sitting patiently while his/her mate keeps all other birds at bay..... very aggressively at times.
Don't want to contemplate what will happen when the spouting men get to that part of the house!

I have been baking scones for our workers on most mornings when they are here. Sometimes with jam and cream and sometimes date scones.

But I think I might try something else.
It has to be something quick and easy.
These sound pretty good.

Today was a sewing day. I have started quilting my granny squares quilt.

I was going to try some straight line quilting but I couldn't get it straight enough ( that's because all the blocks are a bit different and don't match up properly).
After unpicking three rows, I have decided to use a wonky line so it's not so obvious!

On my bedside table at the moment.....
And the view from our bathroom window this morning ....

Hope we get some outdoor photos tomorrow even thought the rain has been wonderful I must say.
I just feel sorry for those poor little foals out there and wish I could bring them inside by the fire!
