The roof is on

We have a roof !

Oooo....it all looks a bit wonky in this photo! I must have been on a lean.
Our roof men worked all weekend. They will be back tomorrow to do the rest of the spouting.
We sat under the roof  alfresco style this afternoon  just to get the feel of it!

I was so tempted to sit in this daisy patch too and make a daisy chain.

Bill reminded me that they are a weed called capeweed.
Last week in the Weekly Times, Peter Cundall said that great domes of yellow daisies clearly indicated marvellously fertile soil perfect for growing his spud crop.
I'm still calling them daisies. They really do look very pretty at this time of the year.

I can remember as a little girl, plucking out the petals one by one while saying......he loves me,  he loves me not.
And flicking the flower off under someone's chin to see if they liked butter!!!!
 .......*sigh*

Our ornamental grapevine is looking so fresh and healthy. It is on the eastern side of the house.

These are the cuttings I took months ago.

We discovered  buds on our weeping elm and couldn't be more excited. We don't expect all the branches to survive but this is a great start.

It is such an unusual tree with it's gnarly, weeping branches and it makes a perfect cubby house for kids.

Bill spotted this tiny seedling where the vegie patch  used to be.

So he went out and did this.....

The poor shed builders will have to work around it now!!They'll be thinking what the heck???
I think it may be an ornamental gourd that I planted there last year.

Some horse love on Friday night ......

I finished another Miss Kate cushion.
( to go with the Summery quilts !)

The rubbish pile is getting bigger.
Bill sees something there every day that he thinks might be handy.

.....still no sheds....yet.
