Rose hips, grass and a potager

 Beautiful rose hips.
 Such an Autumn-y thing.
The funny thing is, not all roses produce such lovely hips. I really love these though. In fact I'm about to go out and find some more.

Can't wait to open #1

A visit to Jacqui's health food shop called An Apple a Day( perfect name).
Treat day though I'm not sure why.

New quote ........
~~If you've got a new book and some chocolate, you've got everything you need.~~

It's greening up here at Frog pond farm thanks to Bill's constant watering and an occasional drop of rain.
Heaven help us when the water bill arrives.
There is not enough left in the tank for watering the grass.

The first mow......still a bit patchy but looking good.

There are others that are enjoying the green grass too!

Mmmm.....they could easily have jumped all over the new stuff but chose to stick to the old paths.
They have been all over the rose garden, out the front and down the side. No damage though so that's okay.

We ( I ) have decided to leave this last section un-grassed for the time being.
We ( I ) think it might be the perfect place for a potager.....an ornamental vegie or kitchen garden that is set out in a structured way perhaps even with an old paling fence around it.
We  ( I ) will probably spend some time researching  plans and pictures. Love that bit!
The raised beds will be for herbs.

Amy has started going to school on the back of a motorbike. It is quicker and more comfortable for such a long trip.

This is Larr. She is cooking in her "kitchen" at the school.

She cooks for the breakfast club every morning.
That's between 80 to 120 children.
It is usually a rice porridge and a protein such as eggs, meat or fish.
She also cooks for the staff lunch meeting each Tuesday. Yesterday it was fish, tomatoes, onions and rice.
 Amy said it was delicious.
***Note to self......I will NEVER complain about my cooking facilities EVER.

Thanks for these little koalas Sue.

Sam and Kiann are in Code Blue alert at the moment. It is the time of year for Tropical cyclones in the north of WA and a blue alert means prepare for cyclonic weather.....strong winds and heavy rainfall.
Stay safe guys.

  1. Wondered what the creatures were that could have jumped to the new grass. Zoomed in and saw but still not sure !?!

    1. oh kangaroos Sue..... they've come in for the green grass I guess. It's just the droppings that you can see in the photo. We are never lucky enough to actually see them there. It would be early morning or late at night I imagine.
