We all pitched in and built two raised vegie beds for Jo on Saturday.
Pity about the star posts that refused to budge.
So after an hour of shoving and poking and crowbar-ing, we left them there and built around them.
And yes, there was a bit of eyeballing going on let me tell you!
But in the end Jo was pretty happy with the result.
( and Audrey that's the last time you're allowed up there!)
We came home with cuttings and pomegranates.
Thanks for a great day Jo.
Sunday
Not a single power tool to be seen or heard today though!
It was the Lost Trades Fair at Kyneton.... 84 exhibitors showcasing their skills.
Boot makers, spoon makers, hedge layers, chair makers, arrow makers, barrel makers, saddle makers, shingle splitters, basket makers, rocking horse makers and more.
Loved it!
Very inspired to make a garden teepee out of the banksia rose bush branches for plants to grow up and through and to do some basket making out of weeds and reeds.
Flynn
Flynn making a birthday cake out of play dough and "squarejangles" ( the name for any shape!!)
Amy
The kids find it funny when Amy has to keep mopping the perspiration from her face!
Oh dear....there's a tired little one in the back row. Must be nearly the end of the day.
Amy's green shorts worn in this photo being mended in the street for $1.00 ( she gave him $2.00).
Hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend whatever you are doing.
You all had a productive W'end Helen. Lovely to see your family posts. xox
ReplyDelete......and the weekend is not even over yet Sue !! It's such perfect weather to be out and about too. Xx
DeleteI love my new vege garden beds. I have planted the chives, oregano & thyme in them today. I think the brick garden edge will have to go, but will wait a couple of weeks. Will hid from me today just in case there were more jobs. He seems to be religious and thinks working on Sunday is not on! Great pic of my big but too..isn't there an app to you know cut off a few kilos! Diet time again! xox
ReplyDeleteHehe......sorry Jo. I was trying to capture the strength and action that went into all that shovelling !!
DeleteHi, Bill is a very nice brother to help out at Eaglehawk!!! I am a little disappointed you didn't take Jack to the Lost Trades day. I am sure he would have made a contribution to the day. Luv your work on the blog " H "
ReplyDeleteHi R and R. Oh Dad would have loved it but would have been squashed in the crowds. 8,000 there each day. He could easily have been a presenter though. The second photo would have been his stall! xx
DeleteRoss, I have the best brother ever!...
DeleteBill says, Yes, you're right..........!!!!!!!
