Gone to Marty's

We're not sure when Dad went to Marty's, but this note was left for Mum to see. She was probably at golf. We were taught to always leave a note.
We often still do.

Dennis and Bill found the note while clearing a path out in the shed and now it's all systems go.

Even a bench top has seen the light of day.

 Two happy sorters.
They are doing an amazing job. I'm not sure what Dad would think!
He never disposed of anything....including his overalls. These are what have been unearthed so far. There could be more!

Bill and I went home for the weekend and Dennis stayed with Mum. He did a wonderful job looking after her.
On our way, we noticed that the Richardson River at Banyena was flowing.
So exciting to see water here.
The first time in ages it seems.
It was one of those turn- around- and- go- back moments that needed to be savoured and captured on film. I felt like taking my shoes off and walking on that grass. Look how lush and green it is!

Amy spent the weekend at the snow with her girlfriend, Helen, the first time since she was one. ( Not sure why we didn't include the snow on our family holiday list. Oh hang on, yes I do........it's freezing, that's why!)

A quick skip around the garden path at home.

Frog Pond Farmshop has been stocked with flowers by Amy, bless her heart. She couldn't bear to see all the flowers going to waste in the garden!!

Hope she's not relying on her takings to feed herself.
Come to think of it she probably is!

Hello you two scallywags .....

Mum's oldest and dearest friend sadly passed away last week.
Rest in Peace Aunty Peg.
We will always remember you.

These two pictures made me smile....

That last one is definitely me.
I couldn't parallel park to save myself !
Have a lovely week everyone.

  2. Well well, Jack would be very surprised if he visited the shed today!!! Dennis & Bill have done a fair job of shifting a life long collection. Does Bill or Dennis fit into the overalls ?? Pity to have to throw them out,,, Ha ha. Love this blog, thanks for the heads up Bill,, cheers Ross & Ruth in sunny warm Burrum Heads Qld.

    1. Hello you two sunny travellers. Oh gosh, Dad's overalls in closeup is not good Rossy. Only the green pair may stay intact. I have a feeling Dad is in there watching all the goings on......

  3. Thank you Helen for your update! I laughed out loud at Uncle Jack's overalls hanging on the line, and recognized the linoleum on the "clear" bench from same as what was in the kitchen, dinning area of the house years ago (I loved the colours in it) The bouquet of leucadendron for Mum was gorgeous and well chosen as she never liked flowers that had a perfume - I intend trying to strike a couple that I got from Bill a couple of weeks ago that are still looking lovely in a vase. I can't believe how well Aunty Enid has bounced back, it was just wonderful to see her Tuesday and I think Dad will definitely go over and visit her once things settle down. Looking forward to seeing the shed progress (what do you do with it all?)...... Sue E

    1. You're quite right Sue. That Lino DID come from the kitchen/ dining area and probably with a bit of a scrub would look as good as new!! That old stuff was amazing. There have been two trailer loads to the tip ( all sorted into special areas of course, none of this dumping stuff willy- nilly these days). And there is a massive trailer load of scrap metal stuff like old washing machines etc. to go to Horsham and Dennis has done some research re other bits and pieces like televisions etc. Don't worry I'll keep posting stuff. Talk about nostalgia.....
