Keys to the shed

There's a bit of a knack to getting these old keys to work but they've been doing the job for decades now.

Looks like Dad may have even repaired them at some stage.
He was a maker and fixer of things .....all things.
If you didn't  have the right sized funnel, you made it.

If you didn't  have the right sized shovel for sweeping up, you made it.

And if by some chance you needed a smaller one, well you made that too.

And if the project required a particular fabric, then there was no other option but to use what was at hand or in this case, on your head, although it looks like this one had already had some stitching done.

Dennis and Bill have made huge inroads into what is an enormous task and which continues to be so.
They have done it with great humour and wonder.
It's been like an archaeological dig.

Dad has most certainly been watching over their shoulders.

The sardine tins were Dad's container of choice to be used in the shed. Small, shallow, strong and the perfect receptacle for all manner of stuff. We joked about how many we would find.......

......236 so far.
When Dennis has been working, Bill just tackles another shed.

When he's had enough of sheds, he starts making things!
This auto tray fashioned out of the old air con stand and the top of something else made the perfect table for our afternoon teas. Mmmm, just realised we didn't even bother to give it a wipe!!!

And a bird feeder for Mum to put the breadcrumbs on for the magpies each morning.

When this old beauty was unearthed, he gave that a go too. Mum remembers using the hand mower to mow all around the house. Such a classic!

We went for a drive today and took a picnic. Bill wanted to see the Yarriambiack Creek flowing.
This was at Jung.

Canola and wheat crops along the way.

These little boys. Love.

Amy has had her little pooches with her this week.

She's been in daffodil heaven and has been struggling to keep up with the refills.

We're expecting a glorious weekend here in Minyip.
No daffodils in the garden here though.
These came from home.
Mum has had this vase forever but has no idea where it came from.
It is one of only three that I have ever seen here.
Oh that's right, she just used old vegemite jars ( so do I to be honest)!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
