A week in November

So lucky to feast on these gifts of produce from the Lakes Entrance district.
Snapper, mussels, garlic, broad beans and eggs.
Amy and Bill teamed up to fillet the snapper.

I tried plaiting the garlic, but there's obviously a knack!

Thank you McDonnell family. So very kind and generous.

Birthday celebrations with Jo.

She has worked so hard in her garden at Eaglehawk.
We came home with a boot load of bits and bobs.
I potted up cuttings at home with a visual record to try and remember what was what.

Two faves that I hope will strike.
Mermaid and Dainty Bess.

And some succulent cuttings.
They look gorgeous in Dad's rusty old tins and an old bread baking tin from Renus. I've started to take a fancy to succulents. Never thought I would.

Another celebration on Friday night. Happy birthday Jamesy.
( it's a bit blurry I'm afraid)

Around the garden path this week.....

A displaced tomato seedling.....

Still flowering their heads off....

A carpet of petals from Climbing Iceberg.

Runaway sweet peas....

It pains us to have to remove some of our precious new apples, the first we've ever produced, but that's what you do apparently.

 Sew and Sew
Farmer's Wife Quilt blocks sewn together.
Now to think about the borders and binding.

Amy and Helen heading out to an eighties night last night.
Gorgeous young things.

We drove to Minyip this morning.
Bill started mowing the backyard as soon as we arrived. Looking so dry already.

And while we were there.......

Uncle Bob and Cheryl.
So lovely catching up with you.
A wonderful surprise for Mum.

A beautiful book....

.....posted to Flynn and Archer to read about the magic of Christmas.

Hope you all have something to look forward to this week everyone.

  1. Another full week for you guys. I really don't know where you get all your energy from. Thanks so much for coming to see me on my birthday. Xox. The quilt looks fantastic as does your garden. Love the arch entrance to your house, such a pity we don't use it.

    1. Yes, I know what you mean Jo. Amy goes through the arch each day though so she gets to get tangled up in the rose thorns!!!!
