I've definitely been living up to my title over the last few weeks.
There's been so much to notice and I don't want to miss a thing.
As for these little divinely perfumed gems, they are my most nostalgic spring bloom and they've just burst into flower ( a paddock full of them next door when I was a child). An old tennis court and then a Church yard for those of you playing at home! My first bunch for 2019.
I reopened my little farmshop a couple of weeks ago.
It's been all about the flowers ever since.
Around the garden path.....
Zinnia seedlings growing in the shed.
Such an elaborate, complicated setup!
Our local nursery sold their business and had a pre-sale.
Seven pots of perennials for $15. I was beside myself! All a bit tattered but they'll be fine when I plant them and give them a feed.
Farmer Bill planted fifteen acacia melanoxylon tree seedlings in the horse lanes and along the southern boundary. We grew these from seed. Our last planting a couple of years ago was unsuccessful and only one tree grew, so we're going to have another go. He has also started feeding hay daily to the horses in our paddocks to help Meredith.
A pair of mudlarks have chosen the big tree at the front of our house to build their nest. It has been intriguing watching them labour over their creation each day for a week. Mud from the dam and hay from the horses have provided them with all that was required. Such meticulous construction, clever and beautiful.
Bill and Sam have been working on a construction of their own. The plan is to build a greenhouse.
This is what's in my dreams....
This is the reality.....pallets, poly pipe and plastic sheeting over the top.
That's fine. I'll be more than happy with that.
Sew and sew
More eye pillows and heat packs for Jacqui and Kim.
A new project....
And some more carousels....
Bill and Sam spent Father's Day with the littlies in WA.
They enjoyed some sun on their skin too!
While they were away I went to Minyip for a couple of days.
Dennis, Raylene, Marcia, Jesse and baby Otis came over for lunch too. Bright yellow pops of colour were scattered throughout the countryside and it looked so pretty. The sheep and cattle looked very happy in the green paddocks. It's amazing the transformation that takes place with a bit of rain.
However, my favourite bit was this.....
I bought as much as I could get in the boot of the car.
Amy and Helen near water again! Daylight saving will bring a whole new chunk of daylight for fishing and outdoorsy stuff.
Helen is still teaching in Melbourne at the moment. We caught up with them both at Healesville recently.
Pearl, the puppy has stolen their hearts.
Pearl thinks she belongs to them.
We celebrated Father's Day here too.
And Bill Senior presented the family footy tipping trophy to Jo, our 2019 winner.
Thank you for the stocks Sue.
I adore their clove-y perfume.
Joanne has been blessed with her third grandchild, Leonard. This darling baby boy was born to Jacq and Will. A little brother for Vinnie. She adores them all.
Bill's Rosebery football reunion was a great success and received several write ups in the local papers.
I bought myself a vase.
Amy thinks it's a bit quirky for me, but I love a bit of quirk every now and again.
Some Pinterest inspiration and funny bits.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
Enjoy all the Spring sights and smells.
And sneak in some chocolate if you can.
