We have had a fabulous day.
Not quite time for an explosion of daffodils but gorgeous nonetheless. The climate is considerably cooler there so the bulbs bloom much later.
We loved these quirky handles on the gates.....
...and came home with these. The only thing in the shop with ruby in it's name!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary today and plan to make a ruby garden.
We've already collected these to start us off....
Erica... Ruby Glow..
And some eremophilas.... Mallee Ruby
We already have this grevillea (name unknown) but it looks ruby to me!!!! And I have taken cuttings to propagate some more.
This is a bit too red I think, but I took 36 ( to be precise) cuttings of this salvia called Royal Bumble. In the catalogue it is described as having glowing red velvet flowers.
I could have taken many more but didn't have enough pots. When we start planting our trees etc I will have plenty.
This cushion is made from Miss Kate....
With just a bit of Ruby....
Amy has taken it...( to remind her of home she says...!!!)
Now....where to put this Ruby garden.......
Hello Helen & Bill, does the mention of ruby mean that your been married for 40 years?? If it does that's no mean feat these days. Some fellow travellers celebrated 41 on Monday. Will watch for the concrete pour,,,hope you don't throw BILL or his chainsaw in it.!!!! Will have to start a blog for Ruth on Western Australian wild flowers, beach shells and rocks. Cheers from Rossy,,,,
ReplyDeleteHi Rossy......yes, it's 40, feels like 20 to me though( Bill probably says it feels like 60!!! ) Oh, definitely do that blog......
