These guys were here bright and early this morning.
They had trenches to dig.
Tricky place to get into along the edge of the house.
But then it was easy.
I'm not sure how deep those trenches have to be or why, but the one closest to the house was very deep.
And then the Termite Man arrived and started squirting something on top of the sand.
(You can tell I have no idea about the building process or the pink string!)
But of course there is always a process.... the building inspector has to inspect the trenches before the concrete gets poured.( course he does)
The men had finished digging at 12.30 pm and the Inspector arrived at 6pm.
I'm amazed he could see the trench by then !
The concreters have another job tomorrow so won't be back until next week.
We are getting a bit concerned about these two beautiful trees. Neither of them are showing any signs of bursting into bud or bloom.
The one on the left is a weeping elm and the bigger one outside the kitchen window is a flowering cherry. They are both fabulous trees and we would be very sad to lose them. We (I) even renegotiated our new room so that we could save the tree!
Bill's been chain sawing all day.!!!Again!!
It's a wonder the neighbours haven't complained.
It was Lavender Walk planting day today.
I started with such high expectations, but by the end of the afternoon I had only planted half of them.
I managed to dig all 76 holes though and planted 44 little plants.
I will get out there early tomorrow and do the rest.
This is my measuring implement.
That's about as high-tech as it gets for me in the garden.
I used it to get some sort of equal distance from the edges.
The rest is just eyeballed !
Love these flowers at the moment......
This glorious weather and outdoorsy stuff is taking it's toll.
We are worn out by the end of the day and neither of us can be bothered cooking.
We desperately need a housekeeper....preferably one who can cook!
Great viewing as always Helen. Looking forward in seeing all in person on Fathers Day. Go easy on the chain smoking!! I mean chain sawing Bill.. You only have one back.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh Bill, well done finding your way around to comment! Chainsaw free day today...it's only 6 degrees out there at the moment. So weird after 2 glorious 22 degree days. Looking forward to Sunday too.
